Unilever commits to 100% recyclable plastic packaging by 2025


In a press release from January 14th  Unilever stated they are committed to ensure that all of its plastic packaging is fully reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025. They also invite collective action from fast-moving consumer goods industry to be fully circular on plastic packaging.

It is a good thing that companies like Unilever are commiting themselves to changes like this. Since it most of their products that end up in the oceans. It  a step in the right directtion, but 2025 is a long time from now. In the mean time they could start by using less plastics for their packaging. No more small plastics containers inside other plastics containers e.g. crips bags that contain smaller crisp bags.
